Dragojević families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Korcula , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on the Island of Korcula and in Split. In Kuzma in Slatina area every second inhabitant had the family name Dragojević.
Prevalence
About 910 people with faimily name Dragojević live in Croatia today, in 440 households. There were 1200 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 53 cities and 79 other places, mostly in Vela Luka on the Island of Korcula (305), Zagreb (110), Split (50), Rijeka (35), and in Karlovac (35).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1749 in source 18th Century Census.
