Draganić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Krapina area , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Zabok area. In Gorjani Sutinski in Krapina area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Draganić.
Prevalence
About 720 people with faimily name Draganić live in Croatia today, in 300 households. There were 740 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 46 cities and 74 other places, mostly in Zagreb (210), Gornje Jesenje in Krapina area (45), Jarmina in Vinkovci area (40), Gorjani Sutinski in Krapina area (30), and in Krapina (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
