Domančić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Hvar. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and on the Island of Brac.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Domančić live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and four other places, mostly in Hvar on the Island of Hvar (70), Supetar on the Island of Brac (15), Split (10), Mirca on the Island of Brac (<10), and in Zagreb (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1729 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
