About 50 people with faimily name Dokša live in Croatia today, in 15 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 90 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 8 cities and four other places, mostly in Kasina (15), Varazdin (10), Pozega (10), Rasinja in Koprivnica area (<10), and in Novi Marof (<5).
Outside Croatia
Family name Dokša (including: Doksa , Docsa ) is present in five countries on three continents. The family name "Doksa " is used by small number of people in the United States. "Docsa " is used by some 100 people in Hungary , small number in the United States , and small number of people in Mexico.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
