Dodić families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Janjevo , Kosovo, rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Janjevo, Kosovo and in Zagreb. In Stranići kod Lovreča in Porec area every second inhabitant had the family name Dodić.
Prevalence
About 380 people with faimily name Dodić live in Croatia today, in 140 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number tripled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 21 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Zagreb (220), Sveti Lovrec Pazenaticki in Porec area (25), Kistanje in Knin area (25), Rijeka (20), and in Pula (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
