In Croatia, Došenović families are Croats by relative majority (from Otocac area ), equally Serbs (from Cazins Region (Bosnia) ), and very rarely Bulgarians (from Porec ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Sanski Most area) and in Zagreb. In Fajtovci in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every eighth inhabitant had the family name Došenović.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Došenović live in Croatia today, in 18 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and four other places, mostly in Zagreb (10), Porec (<10), Split (<5), Karlovac (<5), and in Kebel in Lepoglava area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1691 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
