In Croatia, Dančo families are generally Croats (from Djakovo area ), rarely Rusyns (from Vukovar area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Srijem, Vojvodina and in Slavonski Brod. In Novi Mikanovci in Djakovo area every nintieth inhabitant had the family name Dančo.
