In Croatia, Damijanjević families are almost entirely Croats (from the Island of Cres ), very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and on the Island of Losinj. In Lubenice on the Island of Cres every eighth inhabitant had the family name Damijanjević.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Damijanjević live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 80 percent. They are only located in threee Croatian cities and four other places, mostly in Cres on the Island of Cres (25), Rijeka (10), Mali Losinj on the Island of Losinj (<10), Marinici in Rijeka area (<5), and in Lubenice on the Island of Cres (<5).
Outside Croatia
At least four families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to: the United States (1), Australia (1), Canada (1), and to Sweden (1). Family name Damijanjević is present in two countries on two continents.
