Dabić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Orasje area) and in Zagreb. In Matići in Bosanian Posavina every tenth inhabitant had the family name Dabić.
Prevalence
About 550 people with faimily name Dabić live in Croatia today, in 270 households. There were 770 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 41 cities and 75 other places, mostly in Zagreb (120), Zupanja (45), Sisak (25), Stitar (25), and in Komogovina in Hrvatska Kostajnica area (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
