Cvrtila families are Croats and they are mostly from Krapina area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Krapina area and in Krapina. In places Donje Jesenje and Gornje Jesenje in Krapina area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Cvrtila.
Prevalence
About 370 people with faimily name Cvrtila live in Croatia today, in 150 households. There were 310 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 42 other places, mostly in Zagreb (100), Donje Jesenje in Krapina area (70), Kutina (20), Krapina (20), and in Koprivnica (15).
