Cvijić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Bosnian Krajina , whereas often Croats (from north Herzegovina). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and in Bosnian Krajina (Mrkonjic Grad area). In Krtova in Tuzla Region (Bosnia) every fifth inhabitant had the family name Cvijić.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Cvijić live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 19 cities and 23 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Rijeka (25), Tenja (15), Luscani (10), and in Ratkov Dol in Djakovo area (<10).
