Crljen families are Croats and they are mostly from Sinj area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sibenik and Split. In Slivno in Sibenik every eighth inhabitant had the family name Crljen.
Prevalence
About 410 people with faimily name Crljen live in Croatia today, in 160 households. There were 240 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 28 cities and 36 other places, mostly in Sibenik (60), Split (50), Zagreb (30), Slavonski Brod (30), and in Perkovic (20).
