Surname Chersan in modern Croatia

In Croatia, Chersan families are mainly Croats (from Rovinj area ), less frequently Italians (also from Rovinj area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rovinj area and in Pula. In Bale in Rovinj area every seventieth inhabitant had the family name Chersan.

Prevalence

Only a few people with faimily name Chersan live in Croatia today, in three households only. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved.
They are only located in in one Croatian city and another small place , mostly in Bale in Rovinj area (<5) and Rovinj (<5).
