Cerić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Omis. According to some sources they are from Donji Miholjac area (Viljevo), often Bosniaks (from Cazinska Krajina Region, Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Sanski Most area). In Fajtovci in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every second inhabitant had the family name Cerić.
Prevalence
About 250 people with faimily name Cerić live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 31 cities and 23 other places, mostly in Zagreb (100), Osijek (15), Slatina (15), Omis (15), and in Selci Djakovacki (15).
