Busić families are Serbs and they are mostly from Ogulin. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Ogulin and in Glina area. In Ponikve in Ogulin every fifth inhabitant had the family name Busić.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Busić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 210 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Karlovac (20), Rijeka (10), Topusko in Glina area (<10), and in Velika Gorica (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
