Brstilo families are Croats and they are mostly from Imotski area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Imotski area and in Split. In Medovdolac in Imotski area every fifth inhabitant had the family name Brstilo.
Prevalence
About 240 people with faimily name Brstilo live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 220 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 18 cities and 19 other places, mostly in Split (75), Omis (25), Zagreb (20), Makarska (20), and in Dugi Rat in Omis area (20).
