Outside Croatia
At least two families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to Australia (1) and the United States (1). Family name Brko (including: Berko , Brcko , Berkoh and Bercko ) is present in 46 countries worldwide. "Berkoh " is used by some 1000 people in Ghana , small number in the United States , and small number of people in Egypt , small number of people in Indonesia.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1683 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
