Prevalence
About 260 people with faimily name Bonačić live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 300 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Split (150), Zagreb (35), Milna on the Island of Brac (20), Dubrovnik (15), and in Solin (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1606 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
