In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Glina and Vukovar. In Bojna in Glina every ninth inhabitant had the family name Boloban.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Boloban live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and threee other places, mostly in Imotski (<10), Darda in Osijek area (<10), Donji Miholjac (<10), Brsadin in Vukovar area (<10), and in Osijek (<5).

Family name Boloban is present in 11 countries on three continents.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
