Bogdanić families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Otocac , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Otocac and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 720 people with faimily name Bogdanić live in Croatia today, in 300 households. There were 680 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 49 cities and 58 other places, mostly in Zagreb (125), Otocac (60), Biograd na moru (50), Zadar (35), and in Stari Grad on the Island of Hvar (35).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1606 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
