Bobić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Pasman , also Serbs, very rarely Bosniaks (from Cazinska Krajina Region, Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Zadar. In Ličko Petrovo Selo in Otocac area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Bobić.
Prevalence
About 720 people with faimily name Bobić live in Croatia today, in 360 households. There were 1100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 50 cities and 78 other places, mostly in Zagreb (150), Zadar (50), Rijeka (35), Osijek (30), and in Pasman on the Island of Pasman (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
