Blagaić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Solta. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and on the Island of Solta. In Donje Selo on the Island of Solta every fifth inhabitant had the family name Blagaić.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Blagaić live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 220 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Split (80), Donje Selo on the Island of Solta (25), Zagreb (20), Maslinica on the Island of Solta (20), and in Rijeka (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
