In Croatia, Bićak families are predominantly Croats (from Ozalj area ), rarely Czechs (from Daruvar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Daruvar and Pakrac. In Lipovac Majur in Daruvar every ninth inhabitant had the family name Bićak.
Prevalence
About 10 people with faimily name Bićak live in Croatia today, in four households only. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in four Croatian counties, threee cities and four other places, mostly in Lipovac Majur (<10), Karlovac (<5), Preseka Ozaljska in Ozalj area (<5), Zagreb (<5), and in Daruvar (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
