Bećirević families are mainly Bosniaks and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia), whereas often Croats (also from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Cazin area) and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Velika Kladusa area).
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Bećirević live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 19 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Sisak (10), Rijeka (10), Marcelji in Rijeka area (<10), and in Bogovolja in Slunj area (<10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Bećirević is present in 17 countries worldwide. The family name "Becirevic " is used by some 200 people in the United States , about 100 in Afghanistan , and some 70 people in Australia.
