Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Baćan live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in four Croatian counties, in 7 cities and 5 other places, mostly in Petrinja (<10), Petrijanec in Varazdin area (<10), Sisak (<5), Fuka in Vrbovec area (<5), and in Zapresic (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
