Surname Bastajić in modern Croatia

In Croatia, Bastajić families are predominantly Serbs, rarely Croats (from Jastrebarsko area ), and very rarely Montenegrins (from Vukovar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Ilok and Vukovar.

Prevalence

About 30 people with faimily name Bastajić live in Croatia today, in 17 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 50 percent.
They are only located in four Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Ilok (<10), Zagreb (<10), Pula (<5), Beli Manastir (<5), and in Prkos Lasinjski in Jastrebarsko area (<5).
