In Croatia, Ambrož families are Croats by relative majority (from Pleternica area ), equally Czechs (from Daruvar area ), and very rarely Slovenes. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Daruvar area and in Pakrac. In Otkopi in Daruvar area every twentieth inhabitant had the family name Ambrož.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Ambrož live in Croatia today, in 12 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in threee Croatian counties, threee cities and threee other places, mostly in Daruvar (<10), Ljudevit Selo (<10), Koncanica in Daruvar area (<5), Slavonski Brod (<5), and in Zagreb (<5).
