Švob families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Kraljevica area. According to some sources they are from Fuzine, and rarely Germans (Osijek area). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and in Kraljevica area. In Zlatna Greda in Osijek area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Švob.

About 100 people with faimily name Švob live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant.
They are only located in in 8 Croatian cities and 11 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Rijeka (15), Novi Vinodolski (10), Zlobin (10), and in Osijek (<10).
