Šutej families are Croats and they are mostly from Vrbovsko. According to some sources they are from Vinica in Slovenia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Vrbovsko. In Plemenitaš in Vrbovsko every third inhabitant had the family name Šutej.
