In Croatia, Šodić families are predominantly Croats (from Ilok area ), rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and in Banja Luka Region, Bosnia (Banja Luka area). In Rakelići in Bosnian Krajina every ninth inhabitant had the family name Šodić.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Šodić live in Croatia today, in 10 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in 6 Croatian counties and two other places, mostly in Osijek (<10), Split (<5), Pozega (<5), Pula (<5), and in Kostrena Sveta Lucija in Bakr area (<5).
