Šibenik families are Croats and they are mostly from western Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Livno area) and in Zagreb. In Lipov Pesak in Ogulin area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Šibenik.
Prevalence
About 170 people with faimily name Šibenik live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 80 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 14 other places, mostly in Sesvete (30), Zagreb (20), Lipov Pesak in Ogulin area (15), Bjelovar (15), and in Zupanja (15).
