Šandrk families are Croats and they are mostly from western Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Livno area) and in Middle Bosnia (Bugojno area). In Lusnić in Western Bosnia every tenth inhabitant had the family name Šandrk.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Šandrk live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 19 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Zagreb (60), Zapresic (20), Vinkovci (10), Spisic Bukovica in Virovitica area (10), and in Virovitica (<10).

In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1935 in source Faculty of Humanities University of Zagreb Alumni.
