Šandrić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Murter. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sinj and Sibenik.
Prevalence
About 140 people with faimily name Šandrić live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, four cities and four other places, mostly in Betina on the Island of Murter (55), Karakasica (35), Zadar (20), Tkon on the Island of Pasman (15), and in Zagreb (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1924 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
