Đud families are Croats and they are mostly from Djurdjevac. According to some sources they originate from Hungary (Máriagyůd). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cakovec and Zagreb. In Dunjkovec in Cakovec area every sixtieth inhabitant had the family name Đud.
Prevalence
About 90 people with faimily name Đud live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 8 other places, mostly in Domagovic (10), Pretetinec in Cakovec area (10), Cakovec (10), Koprivnica (<10), and in Nedelisce in Cakovec area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
