Đokić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Tuzla Region (Bosnia), whereas often Croats (from Kosovo ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Serbia. In Miladići in Tuzla Region (Bosnia) nearly every inhabitant had the family name Đokić.
Prevalence
About 310 people with faimily name Đokić live in Croatia today, in 140 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 34 cities and 35 other places, mostly in Zagreb (75), Pula (50), Rijeka (15), Gunja in Zupanja area (15), and in Split (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
