Čulin families are Croats and they are mostly from Solin area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Solin area.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Čulin live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 8 cities and four other places, mostly in Split (60), Dugopolje in Solin area (40), Osijek (10), Jezera on the Island of Murter (<10), and in Rijeka (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1927 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
