Čubrić families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Pirovca. According to some sources they are from Bosnia, and rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Vodice area and in Sibenik. In Pirovac in Vodice area every seventh inhabitant had the family name Čubrić.
Prevalence
About 470 people with faimily name Čubrić live in Croatia today, in 250 households. There were 440 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 41 cities and 28 other places, mostly in Pirovac in Vodice area (135), Zagreb (120), Sibenik (35), Rijeka (25), and in Zadar (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1942 in source Phone Directory of the Independent State of Croatia 1942.
