The Anchor Benevolent Society's mission is to help members in times of sickness and misfortune by providing assistance, companionship and support. Over the years, this fraternal brotherhood has also evolved into a social outlet that serves to perpetuate our cultural heritage and preserve its traditions for future generations.
Short history
The Society was organized in 1895 by immigrants from the Northern Adriatic Islands of Cres, Losinj, Unije, Krk and the Istra Peninsula. The founder had the desire to help their fellow countrymen who came to America - the land of opportunity - to search for a better life.
