Memories: Šoljan

My grandfather Mato Soljan was born in Stari Grad on the island of Hvar in December 1898. He emigrated to the the United States in 1923 and eventually settled in Biloxi, Mississippi. He married Margarite Rosetti (also from StariGrad). Mato died in 1971 and is buried in Biloxi. He was a commercial fisherman. Mato and two of his boats were inducted into the Biloxi Seafood Museum's Hall of Fame in September 2016. Mato's father was a bell ringer at the Church of St. Stephen in Stari Grad. His brother Toma was a Roman Catholic priest who later left the priesthood, married and had 2 sons Antun and Milivoj. Mato's sister Tonica was married to the well-known Croatian artist Juraj Plancic who died in Paris in 1930. Would appreciate any additional information on the family.
