Giacomo Rock died on 27 Sep 1893, due to an accidental fall through a hatchway, falling 25 feet, on board a ship at Williamstown pier.   Newspaper reports named him has "Jacob Brock".

Giacomo Rock is buried at Melbourne General Cemetery in Wesleyan plot I-202, with his wife Harriett and daughters Louisa and Alice.
