He was the first Đivović (Guibovich) to arrive in Peru. He was born on August 4, 1840 in Brsečine, a town on the coast north of Dubrovnik. According to his baptismal certificate, he was a Catholic. He died on December 13, 1905, at age 65.

His father was named José Bartolomé (Bartul) and his mother Clara (Klara).

He embarked at the age of 25 in the port of Istanbul and arrived at the port of Salaverry in Peru, where he married Natividad Matilde Ramirez Carril, a native of Trujillo Peru, with whom he had nine children: five women and four men, thus beginning the offspring of the Guibovich family in Peru.
