The family Name Ceribašić among the Muslim Population in Bosnia is pretty rare. The reason for that is the fact that this family has its roots from western Serbia, precisely the city of Užice. Until the 19th century the majority of the population of Užice was Muslim. In the year 1862 all Muslims were forced to leave Serbia for good, amongst them also the family Ceribašić. The Ottoman government of that time resettled this population into Bosnia, where new settlements have been erected like Bosanski Šamac and Orašje. The family Ceribašić was settled in Bosanski Šamac. In time they are members of that family in Sarajevo, other parts of Europe and the US.
