Ivan Antičić, born 2 May 1902, Igrane, Croatia emigrated to New Zealand, departing Naples 24 January 1926.  On arrival in New Zealand he changed the spelling of his name to Anticich on the advice of immigration officials. He married Honore McDonough on 28 December 1937 and had seven children.  He died in Christchurch, New Zealand on 27 August 1987.

Ivan had a happy and successful life in New Zealand that included gold mining, running a restaurant and working on public works projects (dams, tunnels etc) all over New Zealand.

Many of his children and grandchildren have travelled to Croatia to visit the country of his birth.
