Rivanj is located in the municipality Preko, in Zadar County at an elevation of 98 meters above sea level and it covers the area of 2.10 km² (0.81 sq. miles). According to the 2011 census report, there were 30 inhabitants. It is entirely populated by Croats. Nearby places: Sestrunj, Ugljan, Brbinj, Dragove, Zverinac, Božava, Savar, Petrčane, Lukoran and Soline.
